Dr. Camins is a board-certified forensic psychologist and licensed clinical psychologist in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Missouri. He offers a range of clinical and forensic services in-person and by telehealth across the United States.
Dr. Camins is one of under 400 individuals across the United States to be Board Certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Forensic Psychology. The highly selective process ensures his forensic assessment practices adhere to the strictest standards. Dr. Camins is currently serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where he teaches graduate courses on psychopathology and psychological assessment. He is also affiliated with Carle Illinois College of Medicine, where he provides forensic assessment experiences and training to medical students and psychiatry residents.
Dr. Camins previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and as a Clinical Psychologist at Carle Health. His past duties included training and supervision of psychiatry residents, psychological assessment, psychotherapy, forensic assessment, research, teaching, and forensic curriculum development. His prior academic affiliations have included The College of New Jersey, William Patterson University, Eastern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University, and University of Illinois at Springfield.
Dr. Camins is independently licensed as a psychologist in Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Iowa. He also has the required Illinois Sex Offender Evaluator (SOE) license, which permits him to conduct psychosexual evaluations in the State of Illinois. He is a holder of the PSYPACT Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology which allows him to provide clinical and forensic services by telehealth across 39 States (https://psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap). Furthermore, he possesses the Temporary Authorization to Practice (TAP) credential which allows him to provide temporary in-person services in any of the 39 PSYPACT states.
Dr. Camins earned dual bachelors degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of New Haven. He subsequently received a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Towson University. While in Maryland, he worked with the Office of the Public Defender. He received a second masters degree and a doctorate of philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University.
Dr. Camins completed his predoctoral internship at the Memphis VA Medical Center and went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology at Mendota Mental Health Institute and Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center. His clinical experiences have included outpatient community mental health, juvenile probation, state psychiatric hospitals, county jails, state prisons, schools, and VA medical centers.

Contract Psychologists
Precision Psychology has several additional psychologists that provide evaluation services on an as-needed basis. All evaluators follow the recommendations outlined by the Speciality Guidelines for Forensic Psychology.
Chad Brownfield, PhD, LSOE
Dr. Brownfield is a clinical and forensic psychologist licensed in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin as well as a licensed sex offender evaluator in Illinois. He has been involved in the mental health field since 2003 and completed a Master of Science in Clinical/Community Mental Health from Western Illinois University in 2007. Later, he obtained an Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy (i.e., Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University in 2016. He completed a predoctoral internship at the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, Minnesota with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and he was a Postdoctoral Fellow and Staff Psychologist at the Kane County Diagnostic Center prior to founding Forensic Psychological Services in 2020. He is an accomplished educator teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and he has provided continuing education workshops for various agencies. In particular, he is a certified local trainer for the Ontario Domestic Assault Risk Assessment (ODARA), which is a widely used risk assessment measure for intimate partner violence. Dr. Brownfield is the current president for the Illinois Chapter (ILATSA) of the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA) and is a board member for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of the Greater Mississippi Valley. He is currently appointed to the Human Rights Commission for the city of Rock Island, Illinois and serves as an Ad Hoc Reviewer for the American Psychological Association's journal Psychology, Public Policy, and Law.
Lynette Smith, PsyD
Dr. Smith obtained her bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology and a minor in criminology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She then obtained a Master of Arts in clinical forensic psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Inevitably, she pursued a Doctor of Psychology (i.e., Psy.D.) in clinical forensic psychology from Alliant International University. Her internship and postdoctoral fellowship were completed at Treatment Detention Facility providing services to individuals civilly committed under the Illinois Sexually Violent Persons Commitment Act. She is employed by the Illinois Department of Human Services conducting preplacement evaluations for defendants adjudicated unfit to stand trial or not guilty by reason of insanity. She provides services throughout the central region of the state. Her forensic training varies from violence risk assessment, fitness to stand trial, and sexual offender treatment. Dr. Smith is currently licensed in Missouri and Illinois.
Jeffrey Washelesky, PsyD
Dr. Washelesky has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Criminal Justice (2010), and a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology (2013). He received his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Forensic Psychology in 2018. He completed his APA-accredited predoctoral internship through the Oregon State Hospital – Psychology Internship Program (OSH-PIP) in 2018 during which time he was a Certified Forensic Evaluator and was the unit psychologist on a maximum-security male admission unit. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology through the South Carolina Department of Mental Health (SCDMH) in 2019. While at SCDMH, he completed competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, capacity to conform behaviors, and sexually violent predator (SVP) evaluations. He has been licensed since 2019, and he has been involved in the training and supervision of predoctoral psychology interns, postdoctoral fellows in forensic psychology, and forensic psychiatry fellows since 2020.
Dr. Washelesky is primarily employed as the psychologist on a maximum-security male admission unit at Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) in Madison, Wisconsin. His focus is on competency to proceed evaluations, competency restoration, psychological and forensic assessment, risk assessment, and the supervision of forensic psychology and psychiatry interns and fellows. He has maintained his own private practice in Wisconsin, Forensic Evaluation Services, since 2023, and he also works as an independent contractor for the Wisconsin Forensic Unit and Clinical Psychology Associates, LLC. He has been an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin since 2022. He is currently licensed in Wisconsin and Illinois, and he is also a licensed sex offender evaluator in Illinois.
